Guam CEDDERS participated in the UOG Social Work Department’s Practicum Fair held on Friday, May 5. The purpose of the Fair was to allow the 30 Social Work students, who will be seniors next year, an opportunity to learn more about the range of community services providing social services supports and programs, for possible practicum placement for Academic Year 2017-18. GSAT Provides Accessibility Information to Guam Hilton Resort & Spa

Michelle Angeles, Materials Manager for the Hilton Resort and Spa, visited GSAT on March 8 seeking information related to facilitating accessibility at the Hilton. After considering several options, she borrowed a Braille Labeler in preparation for an inspection to help ensure their facilities are accessible to individuals who are blind. The device was returned on March 17 after the facility successfully passed an inspection. The Hilton is now planing to purchase their own Braille Labeler. Ages and Stages Questionnaires Chuukese Translation Nears Completion

Guam CEDDERS is facilitating the translation of the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) into the Chuukese language with support from Project Tinituhon, Guam’s Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Services Resource Administration. The focus of Project Tinituhon is the promotion of developmental screening at child care centers and medical clinics. EPICS Scholars Meeting

Scholars participating in the EPICS (Educating Pacific Island Clinicians in Speech Language Pathology) Project attended a “Meet and Greet” event on November 6.  This was the first opportunity for Guam-based scholars to meet face-to-face and also discuss issues with program faculty.  
 
The EPICS Project is a Special Education Personnel Preparation Project based at San Jose State University, in collaboration with Guam CEDDERS.  Participants, referred to as “scholars,” who come from American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Guam, were selected to work towards a Masters Degree in Speech & Language Pathology primarily through an online format.
