On July 7, Frank “Koolaid” Ungacta, purchased an Apple iPhone 6s through funding from Guam Options for Alternative Loans-Assistive Technology (GOAL-AT), a financing program facilitated by the Guam System for Assistive Technology (GSAT). Mr. Ungacta expressed how the latest version of the gadget is more convenient due to its advanced accessibility, featuring fingerprint identity sensor and SIRI’s quick response to voice commands.

Guam CEDDERS and DISID Evaluate the Accessibility of Point of Sales System

Carla Torres, ATP, evaluates the accessibility of the point of sales system at the Latte Hut Souvenir Shop at the Valley of the Latte Adventure Park, during a job site evaluation for Frank Ungacta, a client of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.  The job site evaluation is part of the services included through an agreement between Guam CEDDERS and Department of Integrated Services for Individuals with Disabilities (DISID).

Newly Renovated Assistive Technology Demonstration Center Holds Open House

The Guam System for Assistive Technology (GSAT) New Demonstration Center held an Open House event on March 30 from 9:00-10:00am.  Father Joseph English, OFM, pastor at the Santa Teresita Catholic Church in Mangilao, officiated the blessing of the newly renovated Demo Center.

Guam Developmental Disabilities Council (GDDC) Hosts Bowling Bash

Teams from several local agencies and organizations showed up for a friendly game of bowling as part of the Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month Bowling Bash on Saturday, March 12. The event was held at Central Lanes in Tamuning, and was hosted by the Guam Developmental Disabilities Council (GDDC). GSAT provided participants with various assistive technology to include grip bowling ball, ramp, ball pusher, and guide rail.

GSAT In the News!

Guam Systems for Assistive Technology

The Guam System for Assistive Technology (GSAT) partnered with KUAM to film a 5 part television series to air March 14-18, 2016, at 6:00PM during primetime on the KUAM News Channel. The series will highlight GSAT’s services and its upcoming AT Fair and will also feature Tri-agency partners Guam Legal Services Corporation Disability Law Center and Guam Developmental Disabilities Council.
